Aerolite Facts...
Reduces Heat Flow Upwards and Downwards
The 135mm thick Aerolite which has an R-Value of 3.38 ensures compliance of the SANS 10400-XA (building code)
Non-Combustible
Unlike many competitive products that claim limited combustibility, Aerolite has been tested and proven and is classified as A/A1/1 insulation. This means Aerolite is a non-combustible product that does not spread flame or burn as it is made up of glass and silica sand.
Does Not Attract Vermin
Due to Aerolite being made up of glass and silica sand, Vermin find it unpleasant to use the Aerolite as nesting material.
Asbestos Free
Aerolite is made of 80% recycled glass and our production process is CFC and HCFC free. Aerolite is a yellow, high quality, Glasswool thermal and acoustic ceiling insulation that is bonded with an inert, thermosetting resin. Aerolite contains no asbestos and is 100% environmentally friendly.
Noise Reduction
Every insulation product has to have what’s known as a Noise Reduction Coefficient, or NRC Value. The NRC measures the build-up of noise within a space and uses a single number index rating to measure how effectively material absorbs sound. NRC ratings range from 0 to 1. This may not actually sound like much of a range, but each point between 0 and 1 represents a percentage. For example, a product with an NRC of 0 doesn’t absorb any sound, while one with a rating of 0.45 absorbs 45% of the sound in the space. Insulation with an NRC of 1 absorbs 100% of the sound.
